Canyons Announces Locations for Free Summer Curbside Meal Service

To ensure children have access to nutritious meals while school is not in session, Canyons School District is proud to again be sponsoring a Summer Food Service program.

Twice-weekly, from June 1 through July 30, free meals will be distributed at curbside stations on the following campuses. All children, 18 years of age and under, are able to take advantage of the meals — not just Canyons students — and parents may pick up the meals without their children present.

May Digital Citizenship

Technology has played a very big role in our school lives this year, but now that the weather is warmer and school will be ending soon, it’s time to start talking about balancing technology use in our lives. Watch the video below and then discuss the following questions with your students:

· When does technology use make you happy?

· When does technology use make you sad or mad?

· What are some smart technology choices you can make so that you stay active and connected with others this summer?

It’s school library month! Check out these late-fee-free facts about Canyons District libraries.

Do you know how many libraries are located within the Canyons School District? Do you know how many items — books, textbooks, resources, equipment and other materials — are in those libraries? And how about this one: Without the help of your favorite search engine, name the author who said, “I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.”

Would it help if we gave a hint that the author was from Argentina?

If you answered one or more of those questions in the affirmative, congrats! You’re either a certified librarian or a certifiable bookworm. You’re probably even aware that April is School Library Month.

If you scratched your head and couldn’t answer the questions, don’t worry. Most of the rest of us couldn’t, either. But you’re in a good place — even better if you’re reading this from a library — to find answers to those questions and a several other interesting tidbits about libraries.
