Dear East Sandy Mustangs,
I have a couple of things to share for this week so please check out the information and important dates below. Some of this is a repeat from the last message but it was felt that we should send it again.
Halloween Costumes:
We will be having Halloween festivities on Monday the 31st. Costumes are allowed on the day of halloween but must be school appropriate which means that they can not include weapons of any kind. If it is an inflatable costume it can only be worn during the parade and not during class. Masks will be allowed during the parade but must be taken off during the school day. If you plan on helping with the classroom party please make sure that you have signed up as a volunteer through Canyons School District.
Halloween Parade:
The parade will start at 8:30am. Students will line the halls and walk through the school to show off their costumes to the other students and then exit the building out by the Kindergarten doors and make their way around the track. Parents can stand around the outside of the track and cheer on the students and take pictures. Students and teachers will then reenter the building and head back to their classrooms. School will continue as normal until the determined classroom party time. Each classroom will do their party at different times so please check with your teacher if you are interested in volunteering to help out with the party. Be sure that you have filled out the volunteer applications on the Canyons School District website if you do plan on helping out with the class party.
School Safety Update:
Lockdown drill went very well. A Sandy City police officer was able to join us and was very impressed with all of our teachers and students.
Please make sure that you are parking in a stall when picking up. I know that it can be tight finding a place to park in the afternoon but it worries me with the busses coming through the parking lot
PTA:
This week at East Sandy is Red Ribbon Week!
Monday: Wear RED! We’ll be talking about Family Bonding
Tuesday: Inside Out Day! Community connection & how to look outside ourselves!
Wednesday: Crazy Sock Day! Having healthy relationships and learning to step in someone else’s shoes.
Thursday: Crazy Hair day! Personal Development & learning to be Resilient (instead of going crazy!)
Friday: Wear a Jersey! Since we’re all on the same team to be Drug Free! There will be a special assembly with the Sandy City Police K-9 unit!
Halloween parties will be on the 31st during school! Reach out to your Room Parent if you want to be involved!
Our next PTA Meeting is November 1st at 9am! Hope to see you there.
