Dear East Sandy families-
We had special visitors at East Sandy this week. Sandy City Fire department taught our 1st graders. We also had our Resource Officer come teach our 5th graders NOVA and JHS students worked with our multi lingual students. We also did a hold drill where we practiced what to do in case we needed to clear a hallway or part of the building.

We had an influx of students checking in 20-30 min after the tardy bell rings. This week approximately 30 students check in late each day. This makes it difficult for our front office to get accurate lunch counts. Additionally it throws off the consistency of starting the school day in the classroom. Please help us and try your best to have your child arrive at school before 8:15am. I appreciate you help with this.
Afternoon Pickup Reminder
Please use the pickup lane or the parking lot at the end of the day only. Do not park on 865 E. to pick up your child or have them cross the road to get to your car. We want to make sure that all students are safe.
December Wellness Word is Patience (see flyer)
East Sandy’s wellness word of the month is Patience! Patience means waiting with a happy heart. There are many situations that require waiting and patience. When we practice having patience, we might also be improving our problem solving skills, our friendships, our learning, and more?

Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in our Cafe Zupas Spirit Night, you helped raise $363.68 for East Sandy PTA to support student programs and events!Class Holiday Parties – Tuesday, December 19th PTA will provide the treat and drink for all grades and it will be available to pick up Tuesday morning by 9:00am in the faculty lounge. Please check with your room parent for your grade/class for time and volunteer opportunities. *This is a regular school day 8:15am – 2:50pm – no early out.

There are opportunities to be an emergency sub @ $125 per day at East Sandy, regular substitute @ $150 per day, and licensed substitute at $180 per day. We would love to have you join our team! I would include the following information: Age – You must be at least 14 years old Hours – 2 hours (time can vary per school) Pay – $11.45/hr.
