Dear East Sandy Families,

Monday is the start of our Service Week. We will be honoring our Veterans by having a performance at 2:00pm (see attached flyer). Please arrive early for parking and seating. We invite you to attend. If you know or have a veteran who has or is currently serving in the armed forces in your family they are also invited to attend. During the performance we will recognize all service members as a group as well as each class singing a song.

SERVICE WEEK 11/11 > 11/15

All week long our community will work together with the Utah Food Bank to collect non-perishable canned and packaged goods for Utahns in need. The items most needed include: peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, canned tuna, chicken, chili, soups, pasta, fruits, vegetables & boxed meals. We encourage students, teachers, staff and families to get involved in service at East Sandy, here are a few ways to help:

DONATE food items for the food drive
HELP during service week to collect and count donations
SHARE the details of our food drive with your community and invite them to donate

East Sandy PTA is running a fun challenge to boost participation and help us make a greater impact! Food donations will be accepted in the front office at East Sandy Elementary during school hours or may be sent with students to drop off each morning.

> GRADE who donates the most food items will earn an extra indoor recess activity with PTA!

> CLASS who donates the most food items will receive a special popcorn delivery from PTA!

We hope you’ll join us during Service Week, here’s what to expect:

11/11 – Veterans Day ConcertWe are very excited to kick-off Service Week with a patriotic musical performance by our East Sandy Mustangs who have been working hard with our amazing music teacher Mrs. Landeen to learn many new songs! Students will perform a concert for a very special group of local Veterans and Service Members! Families are welcome to join 🙂

11/13 – Veterans Thank You Card Activity

Students with help from our PTA will write thank you cards and draw pictures to honor the brave men and women that serve our nation. The cards will be delivered to local veterans and service members in our Sandy community! If you’d like to volunteer to help out please sign up here:

11/15 – Final Chance to Donate + Join Us for DONUTS WITH GROWNUPS!Join us for our first Donuts with Grownups event of the year on Friday, November 15th @ 7:30 a.m. in the gym! Students bring an adult and any final food donations to be collected and winners will be announced later that day!
