-We’ve been teaching students this week how to use their chromebooks to get onto SORA to check out eBooks, eMagazines, and audiobooks. With parental permission, they can get onto their accounts at home on their family’s devices that access the internet (smart phone, iPad, laptop, computer, etc) and I’ve attached instructions on how to do this. Please encourage your child to read and help them access SORA.

KINDNESS WEEK RECAP
Last week, we celebrated Kindness at East Sandy Elementary! Our PTA had a blast writing positive affirmations in chalk with students during recess to remind them to use kind words with themselves and others! Thursday, students enjoyed stories of resilience and kindness during a BMX assembly with Stand4Kind and to wrap up the week we shared a 5-4-3-2-1 Calming Technique to teach students that calm minds lead to kind thoughts and actions. Thank you to our students, teachers, staff and families that help show KINDNESS in our school!
BOOK FAIR IS COMING SOON . . . SEPTEMBER 23 & 25 (3:30 – 7:45PM)
We can’t wait to welcome families into our school to shop the Scholastic Book Fair! PTA will provide ALL STUDENTS WITH $5 COUPONS to help them grow their book collections at home. Reflections 2024-25 Art Contest – www.utahpta.org/ref
Reflections is a free student art contest which challenges students to submit artwork inspired by the annual theme in several art categories. All students who enter will be invited to an art showcase and ice cream party and will receive a certificate to celebrate their efforts. Students with top scores will move onto represent East Sandy at the Regional
Theme: “Accepting Imperfection”
Art Categories: 2D, 3D, Photography, Literature, Film Production, Music Composition & Dance Choreography.
