East Sandy Happenings – 5/2/26

We’re in the home stretch of the school year, and what an exciting time it is! With just a few weeks left, our students continue to impress us with their hard work, growth, and enthusiasm.

This week was especially exciting as we wrapped up our “Wrangle Up to Beat Walbeck” reading challenge. A huge congratulations to our very own 5th grader, Ryan, who won a brand-new bike through the Road to Success program on Beanstack—what an incredible accomplishment! We’re already looking forward to continuing with Beanstack next year and watching even more of our students grow as readers.

As a school, we’ve reached an incredible milestone—350,000 minutes read! That’s definitely something to celebrate. But we’re not done yet—our new goal is 500,000 minutes, and we know we can get there together. If each student reads just 20 minutes a day and log your minutes into  Beanstack, we’ll be well on our way. And when we hit that goal, get ready for a “Ta-Dah!” celebration! 🎉

We are also continuing with RISE testing, with our 3rd-grade students beginning this week. Please help set them up for success by ensuring they come to school on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best. We are incredibly proud of the effort our students are putting in and look forward to seeing them shine.

As we conclude the year, we encourage all students to remember: I can finish strong by staying focused, trying my best, and persevering.

Thank you for your continued support as we finish the year strong!
