Kindergarten Enrollment Window is Open – 2026–27 School Year
To plan appropriately for the 2026–27 school year, we need an accurate count of all children who qualify for kindergarten in Canyons School District. This information directly affects staffing and helps ensure we have the right number of kindergarten teachers.
Children who turn five years old on or before September 1, 2026, qualify for kindergarten. Utah state law requires all school districts to follow this September 1 entrance cut-off date.
At the time of enrollment, families will be asked to provide:
Immunization records
A certified copy of the child’s birth certificate
Proof of residency (a current month’s utility bill)
If you know a neighbor or friend with a kindergarten-age child, please share this information or encourage them to contact the school at 801-826-8425 to enroll.
We kindly ask that all incoming kindergarten students be enrolled by February 27, 2026. Early enrollment helps us plan effectively and set our youngest learners up for success.
Thank you for your support and for helping spread the word!
Important Reminders
Did You Know Why Getting Enough Sleep Matters 💙 Getting enough sleep plays a big role in your child’s learning, behavior, and overall well-being. When students are well-rested, they are better able to focus, remember what they learn, manage emotions, and feel good both inside and out. Simple routines like turning off screens before bed, keeping a consistent bedtime, and creating a calm sleep environment can make a big difference. If you’d like more tips or support, please reach out to our school social worker or nurse.

On Tuesday, February 3, all 5th-grade students will attend a morning orientation at their boundary middle school, where they will tour the building, learn about schedules, and get a preview of middle school life. That same evening, families are invited to a Parent Orientation at Union Middle School from 5:30–7:00 PM to learn more about expectations, curriculum, and how to support a smooth transition.
