Community and Belonging
Hello East Sandy Mustangs, welcome back to school!
This year, Miss Andrea, our School Social Worker, will be implenting a Wellness Word of the Month. September will be all about Community and Belonging.
A Community is a group of people who share something in common like, where they live, what their interests are, or what their goals are.
What makes communities special is that they create a sense of belonging. When you belong, you feel valued, safe, calm, and accepted!
Here at school, we are all part of the East Sandy Community!
Learning about Community and Belonging
Throughout this month, Miss Andrea will be visiting every classroom at East Sandy to read “A Little Spot of Belonging.”
She will also be visiting each class to teach a lesson about the importance of community and belonging in our school!
Classroom teachers will be discussing and exploring community and belonging during Morning Meetings and throughout the month.
Lastly, we will celebrate Community and Belonging Month with PAJAMA DAY on September 23rd because “we are comfy in our community!”
