COPING SKILLS MONTH
East Sandy’s Wellness Word of the Month for May is COPING SKILLS! Coping Skills are things we can do to help ourselves feel safe, calm, and comfortable when we have big feelings, changes, or challenges. Coping Skills might include things like counting to 10, thinking positive thoughts, being creative, talking to a friend, breathing techniques, exercising, and more. Everyone has big feelings from time to time, so be sure to practice using Coping Skills!
LEARNING ABOUT COPING SKILLS
Throughout this month, Miss Andrea, our School Social Worker, will be visiting every class at East Sandy to read “A Little Spot Needs Feelings.” Classroom Teachers will also be discussing and exploring Coping Skills during Morning Meetings throughout the month.
