As the season’s start to turn, April gives us much to be excited for. The green buds on trees, more sunshine warming us up during recess and longer days to play after school! Students may be turning their mind to summertime, when there is not so much to think about. In this month of April, Ms. Paige invites all students to practice stillness in the midst of all this excitement. Being still is a calm and quiet state. When students practice stillness, they offer their minds and bodies a time away from the busyness of life and allows the cultivation of self-awareness, physical, and emotional well being. Ms. Paige will be joining classes this month to lead students in a variety mindfulness practices to engage students in the benefits of stillness.

5 Ways to Practice Stillness
- Pay attention to the details, what around you can you notice?
- Try to find the smallest item around you. Then find the biggest!
- Take one minute to focus on big, deep breaths.
- Pick a color and try to notice everything around you that is that color. How many can you find?
- Check in with your emotions – what zone are you in?
