A heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTA and East Sandy community for the thoughtful gestures, kind words, treats, and support shown during Teacher Appreciation Week. Your generosity and encouragement truly made our staff feel valued and appreciated.

Few professions have as lasting an impact as education. Every day, our teachers help shape the minds of future scholars, innovators, leaders, and compassionate community members. I have the privilege of seeing firsthand the hard work, dedication, and care that our teachers pour into supporting students every day at East Sandy.

Your kindness matters, and your support makes a difference. Thank you for helping celebrate and recognize the amazing educators who make East Sandy such a special place for kids.

Free Summer Meals Available for All Kids

When school is out for summer, meals are still on the menu. Canyons School District will offer free breakfast and lunch to all children ages 18 and younger from June 1 through July 31, 2026, as part of the federally funded Seamless Summer Meals Program. No enrollment, application, or proof of residency is required — all children are welcome. “This is a program for all children. You don’t need to be enrolled in Canyons District, or even live within our boundaries, to take advantage of these summer meals,” said Nutrition Services Director Sebasthian Varas. “We’re proud to provide this much-needed service to our community.” Meals will be served Monday through Friday at the following locations:

• East Midvale Elementary – 6990 S. 300 East, Midvale

• Midvale Elementary – 7830 S. Chapel Street, Midvale

• Sandy Elementary – 8725 S. 280 East, Sandy

Meal Times:

• Breakfast: 8:30–9:30 a.m.

• Lunch: 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Please note: Meals must be eaten on site, per federal program requirements. There will be no meal service on June 15, July 6, and July 24 in observance of state and federal holidays.

Back-to-School Registration Opens Aug. 3 — Take a Minute to Prepare Now 

Save the date! Back-to-school registration for the 2026–2027 school year will open on Monday, Aug. 3. This year, we’re introducing an upgraded version of our student information system, Skyward Qmlativ, designed with a more modern look, improved navigation, and a more intuitive, user-friendly experience to make registration and access to student information easier than ever. Families will continue to log in through the same, secure Family Access they’ve used in the past.

What you can do now to prepare:

• Please take a moment to make sure you know your Family Access username and password. Having your login information ready will help ensure a smooth and quick registration process on Aug. 3: Family Access

• If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it now through this link: Forgotten Username/Password Assistance

• If you need assistance, contact your school or the Canyons Help Desk at 801-826-5544. 

We’ll also be sharing helpful resources, including step-by-step guides and videos, to walk families through the updated system. Thank you for taking a few minutes now to be ready for registration day.
