Motion to approve minutes- Mike motion, Shelby second- passed unanimous
Bylaw update from Memo- Minor changes as suggested by Susan Edwards, Bylaws adjusted accordingly, discussion on length of term for members and desired to have 50% of members rotating out every other year
-minor clarification suggested by Alison to modify the “four (2)” faculty members to clarify that there needs to be 2 more parent members than faculty members
-suggestion by Dale to have a maximum voting member body with that number being 6 parent community members and leaving the faculty membership at 4
Audrey-HB 144 gives specific SCC size

Audrey- asked what PTA can do to support and bringing awareness, desire, and need at parent engagement activities and events.

Agenda Item: ABS – Discussion 4:23 PM
Introduction by Deidre
- Terri Mitchel – Special Education Director- ABS (academic behavior support, not significant academic concerns- 3 elementary schools), ACC (accommodated core classroom, significant academic needs beyond what a traditional resource classroom can provide- 5 elementary schools)), EEC (essential elements classroom, intellectual and cognitive development delays- 3 elementary schools)
- Dale- stated that Superintendent Briscoe said that the ABS program would be temporary due to challenges
- Mike- will ABS be rotated to another school? Terri said at this time that it would be permanent here.
- Deidre- after meeting with BLT, those teachers stated that ABS students were better supported and behaved than mainstream students with behavioral struggles. She shared data on quantities of students and faculty/staff
- Patrick (parent visitor)- suggested academic growth is shared with District and community, sharing what is going well and what is successful
- Parent- How can we use RISE data and Acadience data to be a more outspoken metric? Teachers are reviewing high stakes testing data.
Agenda Item: 26-27 School Land Trust Plan 5:10 PM
- Data Review- Deidre reviewed a survey that will go out to SCC to collect TSSP funding desires. Please fill out and submit ASAP. Data will be shared on Friday during our PD day.
