East Sandy Happenings – 1/25/26

We loved celebrating Red Ribbon Week with our students! From the fun themes to the meaningful conversations, it was a great reminder of the importance of making healthy, positive choices. A huge thank you to our PTA for helping make the week engaging and successful. We also appreciate our families for joining in and reinforcing these positive messages at home. 💛

Day in the Life of a Middle Schooler: In preparation for our 5th graders moving on to middle school next year and their upcoming visit to Union Middle School on February 3, we’re doing something fun and purposeful! On Friday, January 30, our 5th graders will become “6th graders for the day” as we create a Day in the Life of a Middle Schooler. Students will experience class rotations, passing in the halls, and following a schedule—just like they will in middle school. Our goal is to give students a clear picture of what to expect so they feel confident, prepared, and excited as they begin to envision themselves at Union Middle School.

Middle School Parent Orientation: Middle School is just around the corner for our 5th graders! On Tuesday, February 3, all 5th-grade students will attend a morning orientation at their boundary middle school, where they will tour the building, learn about schedules, and get a preview of middle school life. That same evening, families are invited to a Parent Orientation at Union Middle School from 5:30–7:00 PM to learn more about expectations, curriculum, and how to support a smooth transition.
