East Sandy Happenings – 1/4/26

Welcome Back, East Sandy Families!

We hope you had a wonderful winter break filled with time with family and friends. We are excited to welcome students back to school tomorrow, Monday, January 5, 2026.

As we return, we begin the downhill stretch to the end of the school year. The pace will pick up—but so will the impact our teachers and staff make each day to support student learning and success.

One powerful way families can support this work is by making sure students are at school on time every day. Regular attendance truly matters—students learn best when they are present, engaged, and connected.

📊 Attendance Matters

One of our schoolwide goals is to reduce chronic absenteeism to 20% or less by May 2026. Here’s a quick look at our attendance trends:

• Aug–Dec 2025: 91.4%

  • Aug–Dec 2024: 91.5% (last year)

  • Jan–May 2025: Ended at 89% (last year)

This data shows that we start strong, but attendance often dips after winter break. This year, we’re working together to maintain our momentum heading into the spring and increase overall attendance.
