 Hello East Sandy Families, Welcome Back! I am excited to join you this year at East Sandy. It is an honor to be part of such a wonderful community. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you and look forward to meeting everyone as we work together to make this school year truly memorable! We are excited to start the new school year! School starts on Monday, August 18, 2025, for grades 1 through 5. Kindergarten begins on August 20, 2025.

Save the Date: Back-to-School Registration Starts August 4 Mark your calendars now for back-to-school registration, which starts at 8:30 a.m. on August 4, 2025. All students, whether starting kindergarten or returning for additional academic experiences, must complete the online registration process.
Registration If your child has attended CSD in the past, you will use your Guardian Skyward Family Access ID and Password to begin the registration process. Once logged in to Skyward, simply follow the prompts and update your personal identification as needed. Families will receive an email with login information. As we approach August 4, families will receive login credentials and detailed instructions for completing the registration process. When registering, you will replenish your school lunch account and pay any school fees using a credit card. Families can apply for fee waivers by completing the free and reduced-price lunch application during registration. While registration for most students will be done online, you may still register in person if you prefer. Additional staff will be available beginning August 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to assist families with completing enrollment and registration. Need help logging in to Skyward? PTA Joining East Sandy PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a fantastic opportunity to support our students, teachers, and school community! All supervised volunteers (whether with PTA or not) in all Canyon District Schools need to complete and submit a new volunteer application annually. Canyons will hold a Truth-In-Taxation Hearing on August 5 To keep pace with inflation and cover growing expenses, Canyons School District is proposing an increase in the Certified Rate for the 2025-2026 school year. The public is invited to learn more and provide input at a Truth-in-Taxation hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Canyons Board of Education chambers located at 9361 S. 300 East in Sandy. The meeting will be broadcast live on CSDtv. Patrons may participate in the public-input portion of the hearing by signing up to speak in-person or by sending input via email to communications@canyonsdistrict.org. To ensure all voices are heard, written comments received via email will be read aloud by staff members and kept as part of the official record. All written comments must be accompanied by the sender’s name and address, and there is a 500-word limit. If approved, the proposed rate increase would generate about $6.6 million in revenue. Of that, $4.1 million would cover operational needs, such as increased compensation for teachers and staff. Another $2.5 million would cover capital expenses, including lease-revenue bond payments to help pay for the new high-tech learning center to be located at the former regional headquarters of tech giant eBay.
