East Sandy Happenings – 2/7/25

Dear East Sandy Families,

Please help us in encouraging your child to read at home.  The more children read for enjoyment, the more vocabulary, backgrounds, and varieties of texts they are exposed to.  This greatly improves their academic progress.

Helpful Tips

• Set a routine where your child can read before bed as part of their wind down. 
• Read with your child and take turns reading out loud.  
• Discuss with you child what they think about the book. What they like and what surprised them.
• Visit the local library and get them their own card.

Our library, PTA, and district have many resources in helping your child find a text that is at their independent level and on a topic that they are interested in.  We also have many books in multiple languages.
