Hello Mustangs! Hope each of you are enjoying having your students home today. We are preparing for Halloween tomorrow and want to remind everyone that if you would like to volunteer in your students classroom you need to have filled out the volunteer application for the 2017-2018 school year. This process takes 2-5 business days to complete and you should receive and email stating that you were cleared. Check with the office if you are not sure if you are on the approved list. Our parade will begin tomorrow at 9:00 AM. Parents please go directly to the blacktop in the back of the school. You are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, etc.
Additionally, remember Halloween can be a fun time to explore new characters and wear something different to school. In Canyons District, we have a few key guidelines to help you decide if a costume is appropriate for school. First, the costume must comply with the regular dress standards of the District. Second, please do not wear masks or other items that obscure your face. Third, neither weapons, nor facsimiles of weapons, are allowed. We hope you have a safe and monstrously Happy Halloween. Boo!
Mustangs, here are a few reminders and updates for the upcoming weeks.
Don’t forget there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 30.
On Tuesday, October 31 we will be doing our annual Halloween parade. We will start the parade at 9:00 a.m. beginning with Kindergarten and moving up the grade levels. Parents we will be circling on the blacktop in the back of the school and require that ALL parents line up there to see your students. It will take some time to pick up all the grades before we head outside so parents we ask that you be patient. Please remember there is a no mask policy and a no weapon or facsimile of a weapon policy. Finally, don’t forget that all volunteers wanting to help with our Halloween classroom parties need to be cleared through Canyons School District.
Parents don’t forget that our PTA is looking for people to sign up and help with our teacher appreciation for the month of October. If you would like to help please go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090f4fafaf2ca4f85-teacher4 for more information.
